Understanding the importance of Vintage Research in menswear design is key to understanding
the value of Denis Frison’s made-to-measure sportswear offering.
Since his early days as a designer, archival research has led Denis to the far reaches of the world in search of what he calls “the source”:
that obscure warehouse that holds a rare example of a “first series” Vietnam War-era jungle jacket, or that little-known flea market vendor that has the best offering of vintage American-made Levi’s. Over the years, Denis has amassed a considerably large personal archive,
a “source” in its own right of design inspiration.
It is from this resource that Denis’s concept for a made-to-measure sportswear service was born: a curated selection of his favorite archival pieces reinterpreted for the contemporary gentleman, and customized to meet each client’s personal requests.
